Design Philosophy

There was a time when we would notice things. The smell of rain, the flowers on the sidewalk, the shape of the clouds.

Now? We just walk past it all. It’s not that we mean to do it, it just happens. Life’s just gotten too busier, louder, and somehow… a little less kind.

And maybe that’s what the world needs more of again.
People who pause. Who ask. Who mean what they say.
Who appreciate effort and beauty when everyone else talks about numbers.

People who still look at life like it’s something to be felt, not managed.

Gulposh Shawl is a reminder that the world is full of beautiful flowers, people and moments. What it’s really missing is people who slow down long enough to see and feel them. So be one of those people.

Poetry

An Ode To Makhdoom Mohiuddin

Phir chhadi raat, baat phoolon ki

Raat hai ya baraat phoolon ki

Phool ke haar, phool ke gujray

Shaam phoolon ki, raat phoolon ki

Aap ki baat baat phoolon ki

Nazrein milti hain, jaam milte hain

Kaun deta hai jaan phoolon par

Kaun karta hai baat phoolon ki

Woh sharafat to dil ke saath gayi

Lut gayi kainaat phoolon ki

Ab kise hai dimaag tohmat-e-ishq

Kaun sunta hai baat phoolon ki

Mere dil mein suroor subh-e-bahaar

Teri aankhon mein raat phoolon ki

Phool khiltay rahenge duniya mein

Roz niklay gi baat phoolon ki

Yeh mehakti hui ghazal, Makhdoom

Jaise sehra mein raat phoolon ki

Translation:

Once again, the night is filled with talk of flowers —
Is it night, or a wedding procession of blooms?

Garlands of flowers, bracelets of petals,
An evening of flowers, a night of flowers.

Every word you speak is scented with blossoms,
Eyes meet, and so do the goblets of wine.

Who gives their life for flowers now?
Who still speaks of the language of flowers?

That innocence departed with the heart —
The whole universe of flowers was plundered.

Who now has the mind for love’s accusation?
Who listens anymore to talk of flowers?

There’s the ecstasy of spring’s dawn in my heart,
And in your eyes — the night of flowers.

Flowers will keep blooming in this world,
And every day, someone will speak of flowers anew.

This fragrant ghazal, O Makhdoom,
Is like a night of flowers in the heart of a desert.
