An Ode To Rafi Sauda
بلبل نے جسے جا کے گلستان میں دیکھا
Bulbul ne jise ja ke gulistaan mein dekha
ہم نے اسے ہر خارِ بیابان میں دیکھا
Hum ne use har khaar-e-biyaabaan mein dekha
روشن ہے وہ ہر ایک ستارے میں زلیخا
Roshan hai woh har ek sitaare mein Zulaikha
جس نور کو تو نے سرِ کنعان میں دیکھا
Jis noor ko tune sar-e-Kanaan mein dekha
Translation:
What the nightingale witnessed within the garden,
I saw the same within every thorn of the wilderness.
Zulaikha, that radiance shines within every star.
The same light you once beheld in the land of Canaan.
