An Ode to Kaif Moradabadi

بڑھے چلو کہ زمانے کو یہ دکھانا ہے
(Barhay chalo ke zamane ko yeh dikhana hai)

جہاں ہمارے قدم ہیں وہیں زمانہ ہے
(Jahan hamare qadam hain, waheen zamana hai)

یہ حسن و عشق کی تفریق اک بہانہ ہے
(Yeh husn-o-ishq ki tafreeq ek bahana hai)

کہیں نظر کو کہیں دل کو آزمانا ہے
(Kahin nazar ko, kahin dil ko aazmana hai)

اب اس جنون طلب کا کوئی ٹھکانہ ہے
(Ab is junoon-e-talab ka koi thikana hai)

کہ اپنے آپ کو کھو کر بھی ان کو پانا ہے
(Ke apne aap ko kho kar bhi unko pana hai)

Translation:
Move forward, for we must show the world.
Wherever our footsteps land, that is where the world exists.
